National SEO

Why National SEO

I was speaking to one of my former colleagues who was an seo consultant at an seo company who l used to work  for a couple of years ago, he was just updating me of the seo companies current circumstances regarding there seo services  and former colleagues since l left.

He mentioned that he had left the company also and him and another former colleague had setup their own internet marketing company and they was doing quite well for a new start up business.

He also claimed the owner of the previous company had been researching his website and steeling his ideas and trying to compete for the key phrase which he was targeting, he mentioned the search phrase National SEO,  now me personally would have not chosen national seo as a search phrase to generate enquiries, but he did and they rank number 1 on Google for it now, only for his previous boss to now target the key phrase national seo and try and outrank him on the search engines for it, now l know its not ethical for companies to do this, but the web is a free space and me personally always like the challenge of competitors trying to outrank me, if you do not except challenges you will become stale, and as we all know search engines like uniqueness and up to date information.

The conversation between my former colleague ended really well and l wished him the best of luck for the future and that hopefully he will still manage to keep his ranking for national seo, but  personally l fear not as l know the other seo company have better resources and techniques regarding search engine optimisation and l feel his days of ranking  number 1 for national seo on Google are numbered.

SEO vs Pay Per Click

SEO vs Pay Per Click

Which is best SEO or Pay Per Click

I was recently posed the question by one of my colleagues,  seo or pay per click which is better, after thinking about it for several minutes, l had to answer  seo, has an seo consultant l am aware of the pros and cons for both seo and pay per click.

My colleague asked me why l chose seo over pay per click, l explained, with pay per click there is advantages, yes you do feature on the first page of the search engines for your keywords in a short period of time and yes you can generate inquiries instantly, but with seo, once your website as been optimized correctly you will also feature, a negative for pay per click is that it generates a maximum of 18% of the inquiries, compared to the natural listings, or organic listings if you want to call it that, which receives around 75% of the inquiries.

The reason the pay per click only generates a small percentage of inquiries, is that most of the time you will feature on the right sand of the page, this as a downside to it, in Europe we all learn to read from left to right, so when ever you type in a search phrase, for example search engine optimisation, and the results appear, the human brain takes over, and you instantly click on the first thing that you will see, and that will be on the left, in Arabia it works the other way round, that is why when ever search one of the Arabic search engines, you will see everything feature on the right hand side, another negative against pay per click, is that anyone can click on your website and  you will incur the cost, competitors constantly click on your website, though they are not supposed to, another negative with pay per click is that the cost can spiral out of control, as your competitors are constantly raising their bids and you have to in order to keep your ad on the first page, if you are competing against a corporate company, you cannot win, their advertising budget will outlast yours every time, so this is why l have to declare that SEO wins hands down.
