SEO Consultant Works for Bogus SEO Company

I have just been reading an article on a website posted by the marketing director of a company and how a certain seo company was email spamming and harassing his company with sales call from different seo consultants from the same seo company.

He also mentioned that the same seo company who he had previously used in the past for optimizing one of his websites, he then remarked that the same seo company had lots of aliases and he knew of six of them.

I asked him, why he had used their services in the past and what kind of results did they achieve on the SERPS, he replied, that one of the seo consultants had called him because they found him advertising on Google, through the cost per click, the seo consultant explained how they could optimize the website to organic listings, which caught his attention, he mentioned that 99% of the time he would have slammed the phone down, but on this occasion he hadn’t, l asked him why, he replied that he had just been going over is expenditure on the cost per click campaign and noticed how much they was spending, it was around £3000 a month, and that this was exceeding the advertising budget.

He then moved on to mention that the seo consultant stated that not only could they get him a top 3 listing with Google but they could also do it for half the cost of his cost per click campaign, he knew that he had to save money, and also was thinking about contacting an seo company to do the search engine optimisation.

He informed me that his knowledge of search engine optimisation was very poor if none existent, but had overheard a conversation and the success story of one of his former colleagues, who had moved into another sector.

I asked him, what did the seo company actually do for you, he said, looking at it now, not much, he said they had supposedly changed the Meta tags and included some more keywords, he then remarked with anger, they did not even have the FTP, the user name and password to access the website and make those changes, l asked, well how did they make the changes, he stated, they did not, and that it was his own ignorance for not knowing what was entailed and how to implement the changes.

This time the seo consultant was using another alias and was supposedly working for another seo firm, l asked what did you do next, he said he quietly called his receptionist in to the room and asked her to call the police, and that he would keep the seo consultant busy talking on the telephone, after five minutes, two officers arrived and was informed of what was happening, they instructed him to have the seo consultant call him back tomorrow, the seo consultant agreed, he then mentioned that the officers explained that they would inform colleagues from the regional fraud squad and that they had the means to trace and track the phone call to its destination.

The next day he mentioned that the seo consultant called him on time and was very enthusiastic, at the same time the members of the regional fraud squad was in the room listening to everything that was being discussed, and also other members of the regional fraud squad was being directed to the whereabouts of the seo consultant, it took the regional fraud squad fifteen minutes to locate the address.

The regional fraud squad had apparently arrived on a nearby council estate, and had entered a property, where the seo consultant was found, with three of his colleagues, the so called seo consultant was arrested along with his three colleagues and all their computers was confiscated on the spot.

The four gentlemen, who cannot be named, were given one year suspended sentences and 240 hours community service each and ordered to pay back the full amount owed.

He then asked me what did l do, l informed him that l  was also an seo consultant, and that l do not advertise my company through literature cold calling or email campaigns, and that all my clients have come through referral or word of mouth.

That was how the conversation ended, l am now happy in knowing that he and his company or now successful on the SERPS and that their future looks bright.
